Sennheiser HD650 Open-Air Dynamic Headphone - they sound different, with a lot of space in between your ears. The highs are missed a little but ears are thankful for comfort. Sony MDR7509HD Professional Headphone - good for tracking but a lil' bit tirin' for mixing, hard on the ear after time. AKG K240 MKII Headphones - those I'm using for ages. I'm so used to them that even better phones want me to go back to 240s..
M-Audio Keystudio 49-NOTE USB Keyboard - thats my second MIDI controller that I fire up on the go. Connected and powered via USB cable. Keys are no weighted - be warned.
HP Pavilion w2408h Widescreen LCD Monitor - that's my second 24", first is Acer and I love it. It's such a joy to work with two 24s running together. That's probably a reason that I can't switch to laptop.
ART Digital MPA Tube Microphone Preamplifier - very nice sounding unit, specially after upgrading both tubes to Telefunken 12AX7. DBX 386 Dual Tube Preamp - dbx 386 Silver Series dual channel tube preamp. It's expensive but sounds soooo good. It has digital S/PDIF out so I can go straight from tubes into digital in of sound interface. No wallwart here - don't you love it? Upgrade - two Philips JAN 6189W on board, USA made. ART DPS II Preamp System with Dual Tube Mic Preamps - it's actually dual preamps, not a dual tube to be clear, on other side, tube itself is a dual triode - have fun. Tube is also upgraded to Telefunken 12AX7. I used this unit for many years and got used to it. Both ARTs have Optical and S/PDIF out.
D'Addario EXL110 Electric Guitar Strings 10 Sets - 10 Sets of strings, gauges: 10, 13, 17, 26, 36, and 46. I use this gauges for ages, they sound good, very reliable and durable. And price is right.

Celestion G10 Vintage Guitar Speaker, 8 ohm - that's my preference for Fender Princeton Reverb. It sounds so sweet. 60W ceramic magnet speaker, Celestion vintage tones, closer to the sound of the Vintage 30. Jensen P8R 25W 8" 4 ohm - this one goes into my Fender Champ silverface amp, hard to find 8" Replacement Speaker with 4 ohm resistance. Looks old already.
Propellerhead Reason 4.0 - very stable, reliable a "one stop recording studio". Yah, that's right, just stop once to get some gas and ice-cream and keep going.

Sweet, Chet with incredible tone and Catherine' playing is pure European. Guitar Groove by Philip Catherine. Dreyfus label release. Jim Beard - piano and keyboards, Alphonso Johnson - bass and Rodney Holmes - drums. Stardust version is just beautiful and it's in Db major key - love it.
Ulf Wakenius Group CD. Swedish guitar at it's best. Checkin'in by Ulf Wakenius Group - Ulf is excellent standard player. He is gettin' incredible jazz tone out of his Les Paul copy by Aria Pro II.
Ruby Braff & George Barnes - Live at the New School. I have an LP of this performance from awhile back. This CD reissue has twice more material from that concert. Plus Michael Moore on bass and Wayne Wright on rhythm guitar. Jazz guitar nirvana. There Will Never Be Another You here is in original Eb key and in a good tempo, one chorus of Solitude ballad is in a well suitable Db key, I liked it instantly.
Wes Montgomery - Boss Guitar - Riverside albums are the Wes' best. Mel Rhyne - organ, Jummy Cobb - drums. Days Of Wine And Roses (in original F major here) is the must version for every serious jazz guitar student. If you're one of mine, this is requirement.
Jim Hall & Basses some things are aging nicely, some don't.. Scott Colley, Dave Holland, Charlie Haden, George Mraz, and Christian McBride are the bass players on the album. Alone Together - Jim Hall & Ron Carter Duo. That's one of the albums that had tremendous influence on me. I learned a lot just from listening and transcribing it. Jim and Ron are both here in there best form and not only in the command of the instruments but also in their ability to read each others mind. Classic.
Brazilian Byrd - Charlie Byrd on guitar, compositions by Antonio Carlos Jobim, Tommy Newsom's arrangements. Classical guitar bossa nova. Girl from Ipanema, in F here, is a must.

Jimi Hendrix: Blues - MCA release. Born Under a Bad Sign - best guitar soloing of all the versions of this song out there and it's in Bb (concert pitch). He's disregarding the blues form and soloing on one chord only, not my favorite concept, but he is sooooo good there.

Cantatas: Bach: Famous Cantatas - 4 CD set, Leonhardt Consort, Gustav Leonhardt, Nikolaus Harnoncourt. Excellent edition and performance, Might be hard to swallow at first listening, needs good chewing. You'll get a lot of vitamins and minerals though.
Bach: Goldberg Variations [Netherlands] - BWV 988, Scott Ross - harpsichord, Warner Classics UK. Really nice, captivating performance, don't wanna even pause it for a moment.
Bach: The Art of Fugue / Musical Offering - Academy of St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Sir Neville Marriner conducting. I like the performance on contemporary instruments and recording itself is very warm. One of my favourite Art Of Fugue recordings.
Bach: Johannes Passion - astonishing version with Stephen Richardson, Stephen Varcoe, Stephen Cleobury, Brandenburg Consort, Catherine Bott, John Mark Ainsley, Paul Agnew. The choir is all male and thus has boy sopranos on the top part, which is a scarcity among the versions somewhere else; and as customary the alto part is sung by male countertenors.
Bach: Organ Music - John Butt on organ. "Flawless" - Gramophone. Albert Schweitzer plays Bach, Vol.1 - original recordings from 1935-36. Albert Schweitzer - Nobel Peace Prize laureate, theologian, philosopher, humanitarian. Schweitzer plays Bach, Vol.2 Also check his two volume book on JS Bach - this is important for any Bach enthusiast out there.

The soloists are Nancy Argenta, Patrizia Kwella, and Charles Brett.
Montreal (1953) - Bird in Canada (1953) with a house band and in a good shape. Charlie Parker at Storyville - Original Release: 1953. It's on Blue Note, recorded live in Boston club. Jazz at Massey Hall - Original Release: 1953. High time of flying high. Jazz at the Philharmonic, 1949 - Bird's the best improviser in the history of jazz, according to Norman Granz' traveling circus book.
Complete Bird in Sweden - I just love it. Featuring Rolf Ericson, Gosta Theselius & Jack Noren. Complete Savoy & Dial Studio Recordings 1944-1948 - that's an 8 CD Box Set. Donna Lee, featured here, is my first Parker song I learned ever. Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, J.J. Johnson - they are all here. Complete Live Performances on Savoy: Sept. 29, 1947-Oct. 25, 1950 - 4 CD Box Set. All the New York's Royal Roosts broadcasts are here, along with a Carnegie Hall concert with Dizzy and recording in Chicago with a pick-up band - amazing. Miles Davis, Kenny Dorham, Tadd Dameron, Al Haig, Max Roach, Dizzy Gillespie, John Lewis are on board.

Thelonious Monk Quartet with John Coltrane at Carnegie Hall - rec'd Nov 29, 1957. Requires repeated listening and very much rewarding every time. The Olatunji Concert: The Last Live Recording - originally on Impulse! Amazing, just few month before Coltrane death, amount of energy. Rashid Ali and Alice Coltrane on board, Pharoah Sanders as Pharoah Sanders here.

It clearly shows how far advanced Ornette Coleman was at that time. I just started to read it, need like a couple/three weeks to accomplish that. Title is promising and the first few pages are inspiring. Tim Ferriss recommended it. I guess that it's the title that mislead me - this book has nothing to do with TheFine Art, period.

by Leo Babauta (Zen to Done). I just started to read it, need like a couple/three weeks to accomplish that. Title is promising and the first few pages are inspiring. Tim Ferriss recommended it. I guess that it's the title that mislead me - this book has nothing to do with The Fine Art, period.
